Making the ordinary unknown. Isaac Chen’s design is an approach based on elemental relationships – gravity, mass and shape. Drawing on the familiar, he transcends the ordinary for our interactions with objects and the space they occupy. In his magazine hanger Riddle for Swedese, Isaac Chen illustrates gravity. Magazines are hung on their own weight via string and stoppers just like inserting bookmarks. Isaac Chen’s objects seek to create an awareness of what we already know and to deepen our understanding of it.
